Have fun and do something good by Volunteering

Just 3-4 hours per week can make a big difference. If you've been looking for an opportunity to get involved in the community, learn something new, share what you already know, meet people, and have fun, this is for you!

Volunteers meet Appalachian Trail Hikers
The H.L. Bonham Regional Development & Tourism Center is seeking volunteers to become travel counselors. If you've ever wanted to be a part of the tourism industry, this is your chance to be an ambassador to area visitors.

Tourism Center volunteers are responsible for disseminating visitor information to Smyth County visitors. Being a volunteer requires great people skills. You will gain knowledge of Smyth County attractions, lodging, shopping, history, and outdoor recreation opportunities. Volunteers work with Visitor Center Operations to inventory and stock brochures, answer inquiries, and assist with special projects.

Free training is provided and includes familiarization, "fam" tours of local attractions, lodging, and restaurants.

To share the benefits of volunteering with those you love, ask about family or couples volunteering. Flexible scheduling will be accommodated. Short- and long-term commitments are available.

If you have just 3-4 hours or a full day per week and would like to assist with the Smyth County visitor's center complete our Volunteer application, call (276) 646-3306, email , or stop by the visitor's center.
