Mission

The mission of the newly formed Smyth County Tourism Association is to increase economic growth of Smyth County and its partners through sustainable tourism.

The association aims to market the region's natural resources and will work toward bringing about a heightened priority of thoughtful community planning and development. Promotions for the local area and region by the association include preservation-based tourism, which feature the unique culture, heritage, agriculture and ecology of the local area and region.

Meet the board of directors, which consist of the mayor of each of the three towns within Smyth County including the Towns of Chilhowie, Marion, and Saltville and the Chairman of the Smyth County Board of Supervisors. The fifth member is a tourism-related business owner.

Meet the dedicated staff and community volunteers of the Association.

The Smyth County Tourism Association operates the H.L. Bonham Regional Development & Tourism Center located off Interstate 81 at exit 35, in the Town of Chilhowie. Learn more about the tourism center or sign-up to volunteer.
